A Complex Space needing Simple Control

An existing private client of Terroso made contact with a project for their business; a large, industry leading, logistics company. They client needed smart building automation for their new Head Offices to allow for reliable and consistent operation of a space occupied by a growing team of employees.

The building systems would be designed by Terroso with a focus on built-in energy saving from the offset – this would offset running costs of the building long into the future while providing convenience day-to-day.

In addition to the Smart Building Systems, Terroso would also design, install and program Conferencing and Media facilities in the Executive Offices, Boardroom and Breakout Rooms. Creating a single Smart Technology Control System for the entire building.

A Smart Headquarters for a Leading Company

In order the make the space as effective as possible many features of this property were made to run automatically. The building Lighting Control System provided a Daylight harvesting feature which automates lights in the building for a consistent light level, turning down lights when the sunlight is strong reducing running costs and optimising the working environment.

In addition to lighting control the building was also specified and fitted with a Smart Heating System. With this Smart System the temperature of the building is on an automatic schedule and prevents over heating/cooling of different areas using PID control. This ensures comfort for the occupants by measuring the outside temperature and comparing it against the inside temperature to either boost or reduce heating power, a surefire way to keeps costs down and the temperature consistent.

Where Conferencing and Media Systems were needed rooms were outfitted with Smart Video Conferencing facilities including BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) presenting, Sound & Microphone Systems, Smart Displays and Lighting, Climate, and Shading Control Systems. This ensured that hybrid team meetings and board meetings always went off without a hitch and employees could focus on maximising profit, as opposed to jumping in and out of calls.

In Video Conferencing Rooms and Breakout Rooms systems to allow for background music, remote dial-in, single-touch set up of space and many simultaneous users were also installed to allow for maximum flexibility in these spaces. Whether hosting a meeting in person or over the internet the space could be configured quickly and easily thanks to the Control System.
