Custom Wine Room lighting, Climate and Access Control In co-operation with a partner company
Working with long-time partner companies means that the extraordinary can be achieved, and this project is proof of this. Following our well-established relationship with ‘The Wine Cellar Company’ a premium Wine Cellar & Wine Room company we helped to design the lighting, climate, and access control for this sub-terranean wine room.
Initial site visits identified the perfect place for the lighting control cabinet to be located in the adjacent room to the Wine Room. This meant that the cabinet was both out of site of the client and accessible to the electrician who would be working on this project. During this time we also liaised with the electrician to ensure that they understood the methods by which we would be installing the system. This would ensure that all parties could work efficiently and effectively to bring this space to life in as little time possible.
During the installation process the electrician on site completed first fix following the wiring schedule and LED Tape installation guides produced in house. This meant that all parties knew where and how each cable would be routed and that the relevant calculations for LED Tape current, luminosity, colour temperature and lengths had been performed. Such attention to detail cannot be avoided when installing significant quantities of LED tape and this was no exception. Overall 4 design packages were produced over the course of the project to match revisions to the layout of the room.
Once the shelving and had been fully installed it was time for us to make the cellar really stand out. On site a total of over 10 lighting scenes were programmed to cover anything from an evening wine sipping ambience to a day time restocking of the shelves was accounted for and the results were phenomenal. The climate control was programmed such that it would turn on if the room went above 12c (the ideal for storing wine) and turn back off when the room reached a safe level. On the subject of keeping wine safe; the whole room is protected with a controlled lock, which only allows access with a code or facial recognition! This means that access is convenient to those who are permissible to enter, while keeping anyone with ill intent. All of the above aspects are controlled from either the wall mounted touchscreen outside the cellar or clients touch screen, meaning it can be monitored all over the world!
Overall, this was a great project to be involved on. The end result speaks for itself, and the control aspects look great inside the wonderful design of The Wine Cellar Company. There are many more of these wonderful demonstrations of teamwork yet to come!
